A quick addendum to last week’s blog about setting aside time and space to create. Sometimes you just don’t have the bandwidth to be creating. Life has natural ebbs and flows; sometimes we are in creating mode, other times we are in receiving mode.
Right now Jews around the world are preparing for Passover. For many, this entails thoroughly cleaning out our homes, spending days cooking, preparing to have guests, or traveling to be with family. It’s a big job.
Perhaps it’s not the week to be focusing on writing your rock opera. And that’s OK. Because, on one level, Passover is about cleaning out ourselves and leaving behind those behaviors that hold us back, like beating ourselves up and having expectations. It’s OK, your art will be waiting for you when you’re ready.
